VS.NET Removing tags from my code...

When i am viewing in the HTML window..
a portion of my code looks like
<tr height="1">
<td style="height:1px; padding:0; margin:0;"
background="../images/dropdown_bgr.gif"><img src="../images/spaceboy.gif"
height="1"></td>
</tr>

HOWEVER... if i go to the design view... and then back to the HTML view...
VS.NET removes the style attribute from the code and then leaves
<tr height="1">
<td background="../images/dropdown_bgr.gif" height="1"><img
src="../images/spaceboy.gif" height="1"></td>
</tr>

Why is this happening? sure it might not be the most valid HTML but it works
in all browsers.
vs.net SHOULD NOT remove it...
any ideas?
