Response-Redirect stopped working

A very weird behavior I still can't explain has almost brought my web store
down recently. The ordering process spans 3 distinct asp .net pages and I
use Response-Redirect on the submit buttons to load the next page. The
content of the basket is kept is session so I can use the same datagrid to
show the ordered items cumulatively. What happened yesterday was that the
Response.Redirect call would fail always when the customer would try to add
a fourth item to the basket. The site worked fine for the first 3 but would
not add a fourth! The problem was specific for IE 5.2 for Mac OS X which
hasn't been updated in month. The problem went away when I replaced all the
Response.Redirect calls with Server.Transfer calls. My guess is that a
recent Windows update on the server activated a previously undetected bug in
IE 5.2 for Mac.
Just a heads up for others who might experience similar behavior.
Cheers,
Stephan.
