siteprefix SiteObject vs. UCL?

P: n/a
I've been handcoding all of my UserControl registrations and tags in as
SiteObjects. I noticed that some files that were edited in VS.NET are using
UCL instead. Is there any reason to use one or the other or are these just
arbitrary?
