Future of ASP

Hi,
We are currently looking to move to asp.net from asp.

A few Questions were raised concerning classic asp.

What will happen to it?
Better yet, what will happent to us? What if we decide to stay with classic asp

Will Microsoft continue to support ASP?

Any input greatly appreciated.

Microsoft will most likely continue to support classic ASP for a long, long
time. They still support IDC, which has been obsolete for about 7 years.

I think that if shops are converting to Windows 2003 server(s), which I
think it is happening gradually now, then Asp.Net is imminent. To me, ASP is
not a secure tool to program with while Asp.Net is and far more advanced
than anything else at this moment. I am viewing this as a developer, not a
sale person. The more I program in Asp.Net, the more I think it is "the
toy" for web developers to learn and love ! With over 6,000 classes
available at your disposal, it offers so much. It is so easy to think today
in term of implementing a "secure system" or a webservice based solution
than a couple of years ago that was near impossible! All you need to do is
download a sample source, experimenting it and tell your management within
24 hours whether your concept will work or not ! I think Asp.Net is here to
stay. It is better than Java already, and I think it is ! As a developer, I
am pushing my management to go for it !!!
