Win Server problem w/ load

> Here is my error
Error 12560 TNS:Protocol adapter error. (snip) We receive this error after 30-35 users logged in application. These all users are tied with Oracle database and my connection string is like this

(snip) It looks like ASP.NET is not releasing the connection objects even though

we are doing close, dispose and nothing.

I strongly doubt that it's a connection object problem. If so, you would be
receiving a different error message. The error you describe is a network
connectivity (server 2 server) related error. Check this link out:
http://www.cryer.co.uk/brian/oracle/ORA12560.htm

30 -35 concurrent users is a pretty big load. Especially so when you are
serving up dynamic content (e.g. aspx pages and not HTML).

I had experienced the 12560 error and its close cousin, ORA-12154: TNS:could
not resolve service name while doing load testing on a Classic ASP
application (IIS4/NT4 Server & Oracle 8). From what I recall, my
application choked (TNS Error) at or around 30-35 users as well. At the
time, my findings concluded the bottleneck was the operating system.

That was true of Win NT 4. Apparently it is still true with Windows 2K and
later and probably one of those things Microsoft and Oracle will point
fingers at the other if you are looking for support.

Good luck.
