application folder configuration

Hey,

I'm having a problem deploying my web apps. When I create a new web project in visual studio.net, it works fine. When I go to ftp my projects folder to a third party shared host, the project folder isn't configured as an application folder, so the app won't run. So far my solution is to email them and have them reconfigure the folder.

Is there something I can do in web.config or elsewhere to have the folder upload as an application folder automatically?

Please help,
Thanks!
