using custom error pages w/ runtime errors

Hi-

I use custom erros for the basic 404, etc. I would like to also use them
when I encounter a problem at run time, say.. in a try block I find an
error, I would like to display an "application error has occured" error
page.

Now, I know that I can accomplish this with a redirect and some args in te
url, but i was wondering of there was a way to do it *officially* using
native classes/methods designed for such a task. In other words, I would
like to throw an error 500 and let the existing cutom error handling code
take care of it.

Is that possible?

Thanks,
Steve
