aspnet_wp.exe and AppDomains

Does the wp create a new AppDomain for the incoming request on a VD the
first time a request comes in on that VD. What determines the creation of a
new AppDomain? Does it have to be a request on a VD that is not part of that
path or can it be a sub VD of that one?
