What controls set do you use?

I have been using ComponentArt for asp.net and find it a great set of controls.

Anyone else use Telerik, ComponentOne, or infragistics, or something else?

What is regarded as the best one?

I use ComponentArt, Telerik, Infragistics, and DevExpress in my projects.
I've found there is no best single one. Each has some fantastic features.
Telerik has exceptional styles for all their controls making them it very
easy to create visually stunning apps. DevExpress' GridView has some unique
sub-tab features heirarchical items, ComponentArt has a fantastic
client-side model and a chart that's second-to-none. Infragistics has some
very powerful Excel capabilities for use in Web Apps.

In some projects, I've used all of these together. I've also used SyncFusion
as they have some fantastic controls for generating PDFs and Diagrams in
addition to their Excel components.

Basically, it's impossible to name any of them as the best since they all
offer mature components with great feature sets. It is primarily up to the
requirements of your project, how you like to work (all server-side, a mix
of server and client, lots of Ajax features on client with some server
callbacks, etc.) Both Infragistics and Telerik offer probably the easiest
styling of all of them with the largest range of visual styles. DevExpress
is also close behind, but mostly because they lack the number of styles that
Telerik or Infragistics does. ComponentArt makes awesome controls that are
fairly leightweight, but take a bit of extra time to get styled since they
don't have built-in styles (though they do have some good looking examples
in their sample gallery).

Hope this helps,
Mark Fitzpatrick

Hello, I am using ASP .Net to create my own web controls and I have noticed that there is one too many requirements that forces the developer to be aware of and get involved with. In the past the developer could choose between using VC++ and/or VB to create active X controls which primarily only required for the developer to focus on the logic of the code behind of what the control needed to accomplished. The new Visual Studio .Net...

I´m new to ASP.Net. My workmate has some experience with it. He claimed that in ASP.Net working with frames is much simpler than it was ASP. I asked explanation but he couldn't give me such. (a button inside a-tag with attribute target isn't anything new relating ASP.Net, its same old HTML). He claimed that you could change another page´s controls´s property´s value from another frame by using this method: ' Page "Bottom"

Hello, ASP.NET newbie here so please be nice ;-) I'm reading ASP.NET Unleashed, following a recommendation here. I am a little confused about the difference between HTML controls and web controls. Obviously there are web controls that don't have any relation to HTML controls (like the calendar), but the basic web controls that produce links, labels, etc seem to do the same as the HTML controls (or vice-versa).

Hi everyone, I'm trying to figure out, on my windows form, of what is the best way to add various custom controls at various times during run-time. The problem is that they will need to be in the same spot as each other, depending on what is being called at that particular time by the user. I have been trying to use Inherited user controls, but I am not able, and/or don't know how to retrieve the data from my Inherited user control. If...

Hello, I created a user control that has a ListBox and a RadioButtonList (and other stuff). The idea is that I put the user control on the ASPX page multiple times and each user control will load with different data (locations, departments, etc.).

I tried to use the help on 'controls' to find out what it is used for but there is so many different uses for the word as to make the help useless. So I tried the following. It appears the second statement adds a new tabpage at the right of the existing pages. The third statement inserts the page in front of the existing selected page.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
