GridView Insert

I have made a GridView and I want to display it as such that on the bottom
there is an empty cell row in which you can insert a new record. Now I have
tried and looked at some properties but I cannot find it. Is it possible to
display a Gridview in such a way at all? Or an I obliged to fill in a new
record in a seperate Detailview.

Hi, thanks, I've looked at that.

Ok, there might be possibilities to build this in, but it's not a standard
behaviour I can switch on with a property?? That's what I hoped for. But
again thanks for the suggestion.

I'm reposting this. I'm kinda in a bind untill i get this figured out, so if anyone has some input it would sure help me out. Ok, I’ve noticed a few gridview problems floating around the forum. Everyone wants to do a java confirmation box when a user clicks the delete button. Fair enough, basic user design rules state that you should always confirm a delete action. There is also a consensus that the best way to do this is a template...

I would like to build my data pages such that the top of the page contains a GridView showing the data with 'Enable Select = true'. Below that I would like to have a FormView, that by default is in 'Insert' mode for creating a new record. If the user 'selects' a record in the GridView above, I would like to set the FormView to 'Edit' mode with the 'selected' record data loaded in it for editing. I would use the built-in editing...

Hi there experts, I have a gridview with a couple textboxes and a dropdownlist. I'm trying to insert a default value into my database driven dropdownlist. I'm doing this in the rowdatabound event. My problem is that my code only works for the very first row in the gridview. For the first row, when I press "edit", my gridview goes to edit mode, my textboxes and dropdownlist populate. Further, my dropdownlist has the "Select" I forced in...

I have a GridView that I dynamically add columns to in code. The way that my code is written, everything works properly if I use GridView.Columns.Add to simply add the columns to the end of the collection. However, if I use GridView.Columns.Insert to inject the columns in the middle of the existing columns, I see lots of exceptions when I page the GridView, because certain controls contained within the grid are mysteriously absent? Can...

Hi Experts: I'm using asp.net 2.0 with Visual Studio 2005. I'm trying to use the GridView to display data. I need to programmatically add rows into the GridView. So far could not find a way to do it. I appreciate it if any one can show a piece of code doing that.

I have a sub in vb.net that adds extra headers to a gridview and it works very well. however, i tried to translate it to c# and i'm getting the header inserting itself over the first datarows and inserting blank rows at the bottom. i can post the code if necessary for the C# but it basicly mirrors the vb.net -- (i''ll be asking a lot of these, but I find C# totally way cooler than vb

Hello, I am working with a ListView but I suppose that with a GridView might be the same. Instead of having an Insert Button on each GridView row I would like to have only one Insert button, for example, in the GridView footer. When this button is clicked it should put the GridView in Insert Mode and the EditTemplate should be showed, maybe (?), in the last GridView

I need to take an existing GridView that connects to a database and gets rows from a table and force it to show x rows in the insert mode. This is what should happen: 1. There is a TextBox in the GridView header where I type the number of rows I want to show in insert mode. Say I type 12. 2. When I click Add, the GridView changes to insert mode showing the 12 rows ready to be filled in. I would use a custom template for insert mode. 3....

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
