Validation in GridViews

I have an application with many GridViews used to select records for further
processing. Usually a value from a dd or text box and a selection from the
grid are required to proceed (using a button event). RequiredField
Validators work fine for the single field controls (dd, tb, etc) I am
looking for a simple/consistant client side way to validate that a row has
been selected. Preferably using some type of control (most of the team have
never worked with asp, web, or C# and I want to keep things simple). I am
currently validating server side with
if (gv_XXX.selecte dRow != null)....
but would like to try to adapt a control to do this. With so many things
for the team to learn I don't want to have to have them learn scripting too
at this point. Thanks.

Using a different workaround but not a good solution as this still
roundtrips.

I am using a rowselected event to write to a label and validating the label.

Still hoping for a real solution.

Hey all, I must be losing my touch. I have made many pages in the 1.1 framework that utilize custom bidirectional paging in datagrids. We've converted over to 2.0 and I've been trying to use the built-in functionality of gridviews and objectdatasource's to accomplish the same thing (w/o resorting to the 1.1 methodology). I discovered two very nice and comprehensive articles concerning this: Custom Paging in ASP.NET 2.0 with SQL Server...

Hey all. Below is the nested syntax on how to make a "codeless" nested gridview embedded within another gridviews templatefield column. Only problem is that it loads slow. REAL SLOW. There has to be a better way. Suggestions anyone? By the way, I'm not opposed to coding, it just seems like this should be easily doable on the aspx side of things. Summary: I'm stuffing the 3 three key fields from each row in the master gridview into...

I have 2 gridviews on a page, each with own SQL Datasource pointing to different tables on same database. In the 1st date format is "dd/MM/yyyy" Other 1 "MM/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss" In the SQL database both fields are data type DateTime. I want both to be in format "dd/MM/yyyy" Why is the display different, and how can I get them the same?

Yes, I'm getting this classic error, on a website i just deployed. I have searched google and have tried disabling viewstate MAC validation by putting this in the web.config: <pages validateRequest="false" enableEventValidation="false" viewStateEncryptionMode="Never" /> But we're still getting the error. We're using ASP.NET 2.0. We are not on a cluster. Its happening on multiple pages, including one that only has a login form...

I've inherited an ASP.net 2.0 (VB.net) application that uses a lot of GridViews and DetailsViews. I've ran into an odd issue with validation. We've added some validators to the INSERT template to validate a field. They include a required field validator, a Regex validator checking the length of the field, and a custom validator. Each is then assigned to the same validation group. We then added a validationSummary referencing that same...

I would like to reuse the code for gridview sorting for each of the several GridViews that I have on one page. I've not done this before, so I am seeking a more elegant and reusable solution than coding events for each of the 4 gridviews I have.

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
