Renaming references when compiling

I have a small project that is compiled into one single assembly and
obfuscated with Dotfuscator. When I test it I get error due to references
problems (invalid namespaces, function names, etc). I know I can fix this
by using the exceptions on the Dotfuscator settings. My question is if
there is a way that my aspx files get fixed their references as well based
on the renamings that is generated by Dotfuscator?

Dotfuscator generates a MAP file, so I guess this should'nt be to
complicated that the references on the aspx files are fixed usinig the
mappings when built.

Anyhelp will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Hello all, Recently I've started to refactor my code ...(I'm using python 2.3.4) I tried to add extra functionality to old functions non-intrusively. When I used a construct, which involves renaming functions etc... I came across some recursive problems. (a basic construct can be found under the section BASIC CODE) These problems do not occur when renaming objects. (see section EXTRA CODE)

Hi... Our company has a fairly large client-server application and is very complex in its construction. The main point about that is there are a number of separate client pieces that require dependent project references to be maintained. For example, we have at the very bottom a data access layer application. On top of that there is layer that accesses that data access layer. Above that is a middle layer of classes and collections that are...

I have a circular reference between 2 classes in the same project (i.e. each class refers to the other). The app runs fine and I am seeing no issues, which kind of surprised me. Are there any issues that I am not seeing (performance wise or garbage collection wise) with circular references? Thanks.

What is the best way for renaming a project (including namespace) that also has its tree structure as the project name in VSS? This project (DLL) is referenced by a couple of other projects in their early stages. This means renaming the references in them also. Thanks, Brett

I have noticed that when I move my database onto a different computer, I often get a message about some reference missing. So I go into the reference list, and find the one that says "Missing," and I uncheck it. Everything appears to work fine after that, however, this raises two questions in my mind. 1. Does simply unchecking the missing reference cause me to lose any functionality? I haven't noticed any yet, but that doesn't mean...

I'm updating a legacy app with table naming that makes baby jesus cry. It's a bit of a spider web though... no telling when and where the tables will be called by name. So I wrote this for renaming tables (I guess it would work for queries also). It changes the table name, changes the table name, queries that refer to it, form and report control sources, combo and list box row sources etc. Anyone inspired enough to figure out how to make...

I am having trouble getting debug and release builds to work properly with project references using C++ .NET and Visual Studio 2003. I created a test solution, with a basic Windows form C++ project. I then add a class library, and add a reference to this project in the first project. When I do a release build, I see the following in the output from the DLL compile: /OUT:"C:\Documents and Settings\Andrew\My Documents\Visual Studio

I have a project with many References to other projects of mine (data access layer projects, for instance). When I compile a data access layer project, the Reference in the parent project goes stale (yellow icon) when the parent project is concurrently open (two VS instances). I have been manually deleting the stale Reference and re-adding the Reference in the concurrently open parent project. Is this manual process necessary, or will...

Moving all User Controls to a single directory has solved my problem - Thanks Eliyahu. That said, I still got one Circular ref error yesterday, rebuilt again and the build was fine? Far far better than the amount of errors I was originally getting on builds before I consilidated by UC's though :-) "Paul Hale" wrote:
