why why why does function not work

I'm expecting this function to return the same value each time the page is
hit within the same session:
In other words i want to save the guid as a session variable

Function TempImageGUID() As String

Dim _Temp As String

If Not (Session("TempG UID") Is Nothing) Then

_Temp = Session("TempGU ID")

Else

Session("TempGU ID") = System.Guid.New Guid().ToString ()

_Temp = Session("TempGU ID")

End If
Return _Temp

End Function

The only reason I can see why it would not "work" is that the second code
block after the "Else" is the only one that's ever being executed.

Suppose I create dynamic web pages with 3 functions (which call other functions to make everything happen, but these 3 you might think of as being the top layer): registerSessions(); sendHtmlToBrowsers(); incrementPageViews(); Is there any chance that incrementPageViews() will be executed? Or, to

Also, look at the HTML code for the first line (click the Table HTML button:)) you will fine that the code displayed is not the same as was written. "onChange" was changed to "onchange" etc. Please help. <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">...

Why does this not work in Mozilla ? <http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mark.pawelek/code/animals.html> The optHabitat_change() event does not fire. What am I doing wrong here? PS: It should repopulate the 2nd combo based upon the value of the selected item in the first, just like it does in IE.

While I have a very good feel for how inlining works, I fail to see how in the world inlining can work if the inlined function is not described "in place" in a header file, but rather defined in a separate source file (using the inline keyword), which gets linked in? Does inling work at all in such cases? If it does, can someone kindly explain how the compilers handle that? If it does not, is that documented somewhere? Thanks, Gus

I'm supporting an application at work. Below are some code segments that I can't understand how they work. First let me say, I would never code this standard. I'm just really creeped out that it works. Here's the setup. I have a function, called GetEmployeeCertifications, that is going to make a call to a SQL DB and return a result set. This module calls another function, called FillParameters, to determine if SQL parameters need to...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
