Displaying Large Images

I am trying to upload large images ( around 4 mb) from the server to show on
the client. Currently I'm using an http handler to do it and breaking it
into chunks sending it 1 mb at a time. Sometimes I'm getting errors, like
the page won't load. Any solutions on how this is done right? Thanks for
your help.

Hi,

I'd be interested to know whether the free NeatUpload component works for
you. It's supposed to break down the file in chunks.

At any rate, it might give you an idea since the source code is included.

Thanks for your help. Apparently it has nothing to do with how I am
uploading the images. I get a OutOfMemoryExce ption thrown at this line:
System.Drawing. Image image = System.Drawing. Image.FromFile( fname);

Thank you.

Hello, I've managed to build two web pages, one that can display images with associated text data in a table, and one that can resize and display images without the text. I'd like to resize the images as I go, without writing them to disk on the server. Do I need to prepare all of the resized images before I display the data from the select (which is put into an array by php). How can I display a resized image in a table, without writing...

Hey there, Big-time curiosity issue here... Here's the test code (it's not that long)... it's to display a large number of image links with captions, ideally pulled in from an external file (that part's not here -- spotlighting the problem code): --------BEGIN CODE PAGE------------ <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"

At first I was not certain what could cause Access 97 from displaying most jpeg images, but not all. After further testing, it seemed that all original images of less than 275 pixels per inch or less would display, but those close to 300 pixels/inch or greater would not (MS Access cannot recognize the file format xxx.jpg). The larger, original images were scanned and saved as .bmp (at 300 dpi producing a 15MB file). Then the images were...

Hello, I'm wondering whats the best method to use for displaying several photos' thumbnails. One method I know is to dynamically resize the photo at the time the page is loaded. What does this do to server/site performance? The other is to copy the photo at time of upload and create a thumbnail then, have two separate images, therefor when displaying its just pulling the actual image. What do you think??

I have a list of JPG's which are found in a SQL Server database. When the page selects a certain piece of data it will refer to the file system (resident on IIS server with a virtual directory) and files contained within a certain folder. I have been trying for quite a while to set the ImageURL of an image control to the correct information. I have googled till my mind hurts but can find nothing to help. I have even tried to copy the...

Hi Again, Throwing this one out to you again as i am not getting anywhere and can find little to no information out there. I am currently displaying images (Jpegs) in access via the routine set up in the article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/285820/en-us. It works fine if the image is under 1000x1000 pixels. It is set up so the user can double click to open the image in its host application.

Hi, i am trying to use a list view to display a list of passed and failed items but the images are not always displaying. Sometimes the images will display fine and others they just will not appear. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
