GridView Directly Accessing the Edit of FormView

Is it possible to get a GridView 'Select' to go straight to the 'Edit'
of a Formview.

If I add a 'New' button to the GridView can I get that to go straight
to the Insert of a FormView.

Is it possible to trap the event of 'Update' Button Pressed in
FormView. When I select the linkButton in Formview

Thanks for any help / pointers.

The answer appears to be changing the default Mode of the FormView to
Edit or Insert.

I still can not work out how to trap the Gridview / FormView

I created the following code by copying the code generated by having a
link button on a page, but not within a formview.

'Protected Sub UpdateButton_Cl ick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e
As System.EventArg s) Handles UpdateButton.Cl ick
' Response.Write( "Update Link Button Clicked" + "<BR>")
'End Sub
'Protected Sub InsertButton_Cl ick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e
As System.EventArg s) Handles InsertButton.Cl ick
' Response.Write( "Insert Link Button Clicked" + "<BR>")
'End Sub

But I get a compiler Error

Error 1 Handles clause requires a WithEvents variable defined in the
containing type or one of its base types.

This is getting to serious hair removal time.

I would like to build my data pages such that the top of the page contains a GridView showing the data with 'Enable Select = true'. Below that I would like to have a FormView, that by default is in 'Insert' mode for creating a new record. If the user 'selects' a record in the GridView above, I would like to set the FormView to 'Edit' mode with the 'selected' record data loaded in it for editing. I would use the built-in editing...

I have a GridView in a FormView that has as its datasource a DataTable that is stored in the session cache. When I first load the page the GridView is displayed correctly, but on subsequent loads the GridView does not display. I've debugged the DataTable and even when it has data and is bound to the GridView, when the page loads the GridView is not displayed. I set the datasource and then bind the GridView. I've tried disabling the...

In a GridView, take for example a delete button. When I click the delete button in my GridView the GridView row is deleted and the GridView rebinds and refreshes the records to show accurately. Problem: I have a GridView that has a select. This select gives a FormView control the data to open. I set the GridView visible to false. I have only my FormView open. This FormView is used to edit, have other DetailsViews that open etc.

Hi All, I have a GridView inside the EditItemTemplate of a FormView. Both FormView and GridView are data bound using an ObjectDataSource. When the FormView's ObjectDataSource object has a SelectParameters with a SessionParameter in the parameters collection and the object stored in the Session is a reference type, the DataGrid fails to enter Line Editing mode. Is this a bug? Is there a workaround for this problem?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
