DetailsView - EditItemTemplat e - field validator???

I need to validate fields in a DetailsView when the user clicks Update.
In Insert, I use:

<asp:RequiredFi eldValidator ID="RequiredFie ldValidator2"
ValidationGroup ="InitiateJobEd it"
ControlToValida te="DropDownLis t1"
InitialValue="0 " Text="(select one)" Runat="Server" />

in the EditItemTemplat e source. Nothing fires.

PLEASE tell me what I'm missing.

Hello, I hope somebody can help me with this! I have 2 listboxes in the edititemtemplate of a detailsview. In the databound event of the detailsview I would like to fill the listboxes programmatically (not through databinding). If I use detailsview.findcontrol(controlname) then an empty object is returned. How can I address these controls? Thank you for your time.

I need to customize the DetailsView New record (insert) so that it gets the maximum value of ROWID and adds 1, places that value in the textbox and makes it read only. Also, I have a field called "DATEEVENT". I would like to place a calendar control there instead of the textbox that is shown. Thanks for any help. -- Get a powerful web, database, application, and email hosting with KJM

The default format for the DetailsView control is for there to be a row per field. Is it possible set it to show more than one column per row (see below)? ID ... Name ... Address ... Country ... etc. I have tried to add <tr>'s and <td>'s within the DetailsView to do this, but it just causes errors.

Basically, I have a DetailsView that handles all the Edits for a GridView - each row has an edit button and clicking on this should trigger that record to be loaded into the DetailsView for editing. The problem is that the record never gets loaded into the DetailsView. Instead, the DetailsView always and only...

Hi, I have a detailsview with two fields: in editmode, one is a textbox and the other is a dropdownlist. i want to update both fields using the detailsview. My problem: when clicking on the edit button, the modified text in the textbox is effectively updated in the table, but instead of updating the chosen value of the dropdownlist, the field in the table becomes empty (old value is updated by nothing). The items of the dropdownlist...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
