computername:po rt not work instead localhost

Dear All,
I am using Visual Studio beta 2005 beta 2 with ASP.Net 2.0
and C#.I run the application and it work correctly with
http://localhost:port/projectname/page but not with
http://computername:port/projectname/page on other computer in the
network or even on the same computer with
http://computername:port/projectname/page what we have to do to make
web application running running on other machine in the network.I
select File Systems instead of http during conversion of my project
from visual studio 2003 to visual studion 2005 beta 2.Thanks

Best Regards!

I have code to add a domain user to a local group but I'm not sure if it will work with NT domains or whether it will only work with Active Directory based systems. Here's the code: public void AddDomainUserToLocalGroup(string computerName, string groupName, string domainName, string userName) { Hashtable htRet = new Hashtable(); IADsContainer groupComputer = (IADsContainer)Win32.GetObject("WinNT://" + computerName + ",computer");

I have run into a really strange problem. My objective is that I only want user who have authenticated themselves to be able to access the website (and authentication is performed by form authentication). Only a registration web page is allowed anonymous access. I have the following contents in web.config: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <configuration>

Has anyone had any experience gathering the local computername through a web application with no client side program. I've been researching different avenues and have been coming up blank so far. I'm working in a Intranet Env with Active Directory and all Windows XP clients. My end goal is to actually have an active desktop component that is branded for the company with other user and computer specific information that will help the IT...

I have written a VB app using the RS323.vb code from the VB resource kit. When I try to run the code from a network drive I get a securityexception error. If I copy the file to the local c drive it works perfectly. I have seen posts that say the best thing to do is change the runtime security policys on the PCs. I would rather code the program so I don't have to change the security policy at all. I have seen a few examples of permission...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
