Active Directory authentication issue with ASP.NET & IIS

I have IIS5, ActiveDirectory , fileserver on 3 different boxes all
WINDOWS 2000 Enterprise.

Trying to authenticate users on AD to access files on fileserver using
ASP.NET from IIS5
Successfully can log to asp.net pages on IIS with proper AD user
credentials but unable to access fileserver folder called "ROCK"

<impersonatio n = "True">
<authenticati on ="windows">
IIS Virtual directory uses "Integrated " mode of authentication
Denies Anonymous users
I did do the folder ROCK (IUS & IWAM accounts) permissions for
fullrights on the folder.

I Get this error...any help is greatly appreciated
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of
the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more
information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.Unauthor izedAccessExcep tion: Access to the
path "\\fileserver\R OCK" is denied.

ASP.NET is not authorized to access the requested resource. Consider
granting access rights to the resource to the ASP.NET request identity.
ASP.NET has a base process identity (typically {MACHINE}\ASPNE T on IIS
5 or Network Service on IIS 6) that is used if the application is not
impersonating. If the application is impersonating via <identity
impersonate="tr ue"/>, the identity will be the anonymous user
(typically IUSR_MACHINENAM E) or the authenticated request user.

To grant ASP.NET write access to a file, right-click the file in
Explorer, choose "Properties " and select the Security tab. Click "Add"
to add the appropriate user or group. Highlight the ASP.NET account,
and check the boxes for the desired access

when you use ntlm authenication with IIS you can not access a fileshare due
to the one hop rule (no creditials forwarding). switch to kerberos (and
enable forwarding) or basic authenication.

We have just installed a SQL Server 2000 (SP 3A) onto a computer that has Windows-2003 Server on it. Now, we cannot get access to that database server from other computers. Seem like this may be an issue with Active Directory. Our network consists of Windows-2000 Servers (SP 4) and Windows-2000 workstations and Windows-XP workstations. We...

I would like to check login credentials, ie username and password, from Active Directory via an asp page. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
