Permission to start / stop website

I have a website on my local development machine that has a page where a
small number of services (that I have wrote myself) can be either started or
The website uses forms authentication at present, so as far as I am aware I
can't use windows authetication (not sure if this is relevant or not)
At present the virtual directory that is running the application is set to
"Anonymous" Accss and is running under the IUSR_MACHINENAM E account.

My every day user account does have permissions to start / stop windows
services on the local machine, but as i'm using forms authentication I can't
use windows authentication also.

I need the web application to have suffient permissions to both start and
stop a windows service.

This is what I have done so far (which has not worked)

Added the IUSR_MACHINENAM E on the local machine acount to the local
administrators group.
Added the ASPNET account on the local machine to the local administrators

The above steps stll give me an "Access Denied" error. so I did the

I added the "EveryOne" group to the local administrators group but still I
get the access denied message.

can anybody please help or offer advice on the permissions that I need to
set so that my web application can have suffiicient privilages to start /
stop windows services.

many thanks in advance.

In our ASP page, we call XMLHttp to download XML files. When calling our page using localhost (localhost/myWebSite/myPage.htm), it works, but when calling using the IP address of the web server (xx.x.x.xxx/myWebSite/myPage.htm), I got "Permission denied" error in the HTTP.Open statement. Set http = CreateObject("Microsoft.XmlHttp") http.open "Get", "http://" & "xx.x.x.xxx" & "/XMLFiles/N-1min.xml", ALSE --> permission denied error

Morning All, I have some code for a website which uses 'window.open' to simulate modal dialog boxes. I use the window.closed property to decide if the window object exists at various points. This has been fine until last week when I started getting javascript 'Permission Denied' errors when I try to access this property. I suspect that a windows update has caused this somehow, as this code has not changed for a very long time. Can...

I am trying to implement a web updater for my C# application. I am using a technique I have used for several years in Win32 apps but it isn't working for the .NET version of my app. This is my process: 1. My app retrieves a version file form our web server and compares the version to the version of the current assembly. Works fine. 2. If an update is available, I download the new Setup.exe from the web server and save it in a folder...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
