Large Input Page - Add/Edit Capabilities

I have an app that i need to create a way for a user to either add or edit
records that have a good 50 fields. Due to the large amount of fields I
can't just use a Datagrid and use the edit template column. Has anyone else
run into this or know a good way for creating a UI to handle this? I was
thinking of maybe having a datagrid showing the records and having an "Edit"
button - but one that copies the selected record data into another page to
edit that record & and Add new that calls to the same page with a parameter
so the page knows its a new record and handles it accordingly. Any
help/insite to this would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I'm looking for ways to 'echo' a single large associative array repeatedly w/ as little overhead as possible. I'm developing a simple subscription form, two steps, one page. In step 1 the subscriber selects their country from a drop down menu whose name and value pairs are based on ISO standards. In step 2 user has the option to return to 1 and edit.

Hello all. I am a Java programmer who sometimes dabbles in simple PHP stuff, and had a question that's way over my head, for you DHTML experts. I would like to know how to dynamically edit a currently static HTML page which contains a map of a stands at a convention center. I am trying to create a form for a MySQL database similar to a spreadsheet. The idea is to display a list of records, with the last line of the list being an input form. When the user enters data in the form and hits the submit button, the data is entered and the form is reloaded with the new data displayed and another input form becomes the last line. Example --- Before entering new data

Is it possible to input values into a web form from an external source like a client-side javascript? There is a web site that I'm viewing where I have to enter 5 values in the form. 4 of the values don't change only one input field does. Is it possible to create a javascript to run which would popluate the non-changing values by executing the script or by pressing a button on the script? No experience at this so any examples would...

I help manage a large web site, one that has over 600 html pages... It's a reference site for ham radio folks and as an example, one page indexes over 1.8 gb of on-line PDF documents. The site is structured as an upside-down tree, and (if I remember correctly) never more than 4 levels. The site basically grew (like the creeping black blob) ... all the pages were created in Notepad over the last

Hi, I'm faced with a classic problem of how to update a large number of records from a web page. I;m trying to build an interface that will display recordset in the order of 3000 rows and allow the user to edit and update records from that interface. I have cached some static lists in the page but the main recordset should reflect updated data so it can't be cached. I also compute some control functions over the whole data. This will...

I have a need to input a large tab delimited text file, which I will parse to check it has the expected columns, before allowing the user to submit it to the database. The user may paste the file into a textbox, or upload it (haven't decided yet). The problem I have is that the text file consists of around 3000 lines, and I want to display the formatted columns to the user before submitting it to the database (perhaps allowing them to...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
