passing session variables to popup

I am opening a popup using

window.showModa lDialog
('abc.aspx','', 'dialogWidth:12 00px;dialogHeig ht:800px;left:
true;help:no;re sizable:yes;'); ");

In abc.aspx, session variables should be accessible. I
have checked it with IE 6. And in abc.aspx, session
variables are accessible but i dont know about IE 5.

Can any one suggest wether it will work in IE 5 version
also or not??

It'll work ... session variables are on the server
typically linked to a session cookie on the client.

Does anyone have experience with passing variables from an ASP page to a JSP page. The way it currently works in passing the SSN in the URL. This cannot be good. I thought that storing a unique session ID in a cookie and referencing the SSN from the Session ID would be the correct way to do this. But since we have two separate servers, IIS and Websphere, how do we coordinate the session ID?

When launching our application with Internet Explorer already opened, but not pointing to our web server, the session variables disappear. If you open I.E. after launching our app, it works fine. It also works fine if you have the option set to 'Reuse Windows for Lauching Shortcuts' checked in the I.E. properties and launch our app from a shortcut, but it fails it you launch it from the I.E. favorites or some other method that won't take...

Hi Everyone, I was wondering if there was a way to pass a variable to a popup window. The purpose is make it so when a user clicks on a specific region/link of the glossary page, a popup opens with the related description. This is done and is obviously not a concern. However, now I would like to make it so the corresponding row becomes highlighted (changes background colour via DOM). I imagine it can be done, but I'm at a loss for...

When we open a window (using client-side jscript ie. window.open("/Site/Popup.aspx?...",...)) from Page1.aspx, the called page Popup.aspx does not have access to the Session variables present in Page1.aspx. The IIS Log shows (listed below) shows that the ASP.NET_SessionId cookie is not present in Popup.aspx. The thing is that this mechanism works for 99% of our users. There is this one user that is consistently having this problem. ...

I'm trying to pass a custom object back and forth between forms. This custom object is pulled into the app using an external reference to an assembly DLL that was given to me by a co-worker. A query-string flag is used to indicate to the page whether it should instantiate a new instance of the object or access an existing instance from the calling page. On the both pages I have a property of the page which is an instance of this custom...

Hi, This isn't a mission critical question but I thought I'dl throw it out there for your feedback as it's a bit curious. I have developed a shopping cart for an application I'm working on which is loosely based on the e-commerce example in the quickstarts tutorial. In the cart display I have provided functionality so that when a user clicks on a product name a popup is opened with the full product details displayed.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
