How to get cell's background color?

I'm fairly comfortable with using ASP script to extract data from Excel into HTML tables. However, now there's a need to preserve the background color of the cells on the Excel spreadsheet and I haven't been able to figure it out. I know there's probably a simple function/method to get the properties of each individual cell but my searches on the web haven't got me anything close to this topic.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
