Hi! there,
Recently, my client's website, which is coded in ASP Classic has problem in sending email. The script is using Jmail for the email part. Here is the error message:
"jmail.SMTPMail error '8000ffff'
The message was undeliverable. All servers failed to receive the message"
After i googled it, the answer i got is as follows:
"The mailserver(s) you specified either weren't set up to receive emails from your webserver or you didn't enter a valid mailserver. You must enter the full name or IPaddress, you can't just enter the network name of your mailserver. Also, some systems prefer if you specify port, which usually is 25."
My situation:
a) Client's website is on the Server A, yet the Email Accounts are on Server B
b) I want to send out the email from Server A (through website), by assigning the server address of Server B like so "JMail.ServerAddress = "smtp.clientdomain.com.sg:25" (I am sure it is correct)
c) Failed to send out email and keep getting :"jmail.SMTPMail error '8000ffff' error...
My concerns:
a) ""The mailserver(s) you specified either weren't set up to receive emails from your webserver..." If this is the case, what should i tell/ask for the client ISP do something on the Server B?? in order to allow receive email from Server A (the website hosted)? If so, how to do it? (Server A and Server B are two different ISP..)
b) And, what are the things required for Server A, so that able to send the email?
c) Any other options for this case??
Hope to hear from ASP experts and million thanks in advance!
