rich text editor data cant be inserted in database

i cant insert data from rich text box to my sqlserver database
while all other data inserts using
strDescription = trim(Request.Form("rte1"))
if i use rte safe then error is shown and whole script not run
strDescription = RTESafe(Request.Form("rte1"))
Microsoft VBScript runtime (0x800A000D)
Type mismatch: 'RTESafe'
is there any file containing this function i m missing to include

request.write(strDescription) help me to find this variable doesnt contain any value.what is the problem plz explain

There is no way for us to know what the problem is without seeing the code. I would guess that either you got the name of the input wrong, or you didn't include the rich textarea in the form that is submitted. One simple trouble-shooting technique is to list all form inputs submitted:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. for each x in request.form
  2.    response.write x & ": " & request.form(x) & "<br>" & vbNewLine
  3. next
this will tell you if the input to which you are referring was submitted with the form.
