query two tables asp

Hi, I am having a problem with this query and wonder if anyone can advise.

SQLQuery="Select tblGreetingcategories.categoryname,tblGreetingPostCards.categoryid, tblGreetingPostCards.PostCardID,tblGreetingPostCards.DefaultHeadline,tblGreetingPostCards.CardDescription,tblGreetingPostCards. from tblGreetingcategories,tblGreetingPostCards WHERE CardDescription IN (SELECT CardDescription FROM tblGreetingPostCards WHERE PostCardID = " & Clng(lngPostCardID) & ")"

I am trying to return the category name with the relevant category id. I have 8 categories and at the moment it duplicates each record 8 times giving each a different category name when in reality each only has one unique category name. the categoryid is returned fine as it is present in the main table greetingpostcards. The category name is in the other table greetingcategories.


To simplify. When someone clicks a carddescription, this query should return all other people with the same description. It does that. I just need it to include the categoryname in which they are too, as a link back to their main category. At the moment it does return the name, but like I ecplained above it duplicates each record, the number equal to the number of categories.
Strange!!
Any help would be great.

Hi, Just to show the solution I came up with. I added
WHERE tblGreetingcategories.categoryid = tblGreetingpostcards.categoryid and CardDescription IN (SELECT etc etc
