Excel Content Type Question

Hey All I have a report that generates a records into an excel spreadsheet, one of the fields is a link, I would like those links to submit to a new window. How do I do this? Adding the target="_blank" to the link does not seem to work.

When you say it generates an excel spreadsheet, your saying it actually writes to a .xls file?

If that is the case, when the file is opened, even if it is through IE it should open the excel application. When a link is clicked in excel it should automatically open up a "new window" as it will be opened in IE instead of the Excel app which will stay open.

So I guess I'm not sure I understand your question. Have you clicked this link and it opens in the same window? Are you within IE when you click it?
