Urgent - 2147467259: [Microsoft] [ODBC driver for Oracle] [Oracle]

Hi guys,

I need your help!!!!

I have installed and configured a new server called "intranetnew" in order to replace the old server "intranet."

With the new server, i'm able to connect to Oracle and do SQL queries using the SQL-Plus.

However, when i try to connect to Oracle via a test page written in ASP, the following error message appears on the screen "2147467259: [Microsoft] [ODBC driver for Oracle] [Oracle]."

While the same test page (same code) is 100% functional on the old machine intranet

The only thing I could see is the version of Microsoft ODBC driver for Oracle installed on the two servers.

On the old server (intranet) the installed version of the driver is "2.573.4202.00 with MDAC 2.6, whereas on the new server (intranetnew) the installed version of this driver is "2.576.1830.00" with MDAC 2.8.

Do you have an idea for solving this problem?
Thank you very much for your help!

By the way, we are using Oracle Database 8.1.7.

Hi Paul,

Are there any other errors coming up that show 80xxxxxx? And is anything showing up in your server event logs along the same lines?

Best regards,

Hi there,

There are 2 things you have to check;

1. Is the ODBC DSN created & tested
2. Permission on the database file, anonymous account must have read / write access

Good luck & Take care.
