How to know which version of IIS is installed on my machine

36
I am using Windows XP pro and would like to know how I determine which version of IIS is installed. I would also like to know if it is possible to update to IIS 4.0 on a Windows XP pro machine (and if it is possible how do I do it?).

I would go into control panel -> add/remove programs and select IIS. There should be a "Click here for support information" link which lists version number.

I can't remember which version of IIS is shipped with XP (and it might depend on your edition of XP) but I thought it was a higher version number than 4. The best way to install is to insert your system disk and do a custom installation, just installing IIS. If that only gives you version 4, the best way is to just check for updates from M$.
