Server-side form validation

Hi,

Let's say I have a couple of Classic ASP websites with some HTML forms. There is one page, global.asp, which is present in every page using #include so I can perform global actions on every website (like set the same title for every website).

I have added a function to global.asp which catches all Form info from every webpage in every website.

Is there a way to change these values that were sent from the Form?

OR can i directly change the value of Request.Form("field') OR can i mimic a POST Form send with asp/vbscript?

PS i do not want to use javascript under any circumstance

You really can't change the request data. Most of us, if we need to, will pass it to local variables, so for example if someone entered a book title in a form, and I needed it in the format with the word "The" at the end, I might say something like this:

dim title
title = request.form("title")
if left(title, 4) = "The " then
   title = right(title, len(title)-4) & ", The"
end if

then when I want to use it throughout that page, I use the local variable "title" rather than the request.form("title"). If you want to continue passing it on, you could send it to a cookie (you can only set cookies at the beginning of the page before you send any text, so this might not work for your case) or you can send this to a session-level variable. Does this help?
