ASP Authentication

52
Hey, I'm sure this has been asked alot and I've searched the forums and gotten a pretty good idea of the answer from this thread

http://www.thescripts.com/forum/thread52229.html

However, I'm curious, why can't the domain have .'s in it, I'm creating a page and i want it to be accessed by IP address on my network. When I use the IP address it prompts me for authentication (I don't want this) but when i use machine name (Okay for test environment but not for production) it doesn't prompt me. I'm currently using the Auth_User command, is there some other command that might work better?
