Client Certificate programmatically

Hello,

i am trying to secure my website using certificate authentication. as you already now that when you request the website the web browser will ask you for the client certificate. but is there a way not to ask and in the login screen instead of the username i need to let the user to browse for the certificate and supply a password and programmatically i can validate the certificate against the certificate server.

thanks
