wierd us/uk date toggling issue

ive an application that datestamps a row of data
when i make changes to the file from an admin gui it toggles the date
between the us (mmddyyyy) and uk (ddmmyyyy)

anyone know how to stop this?

Stop using ambiguous date formats and/or format the date yourself?
