Different virtual folders

If I have 1 Virtual Dirctory with 2 different subfolders are these 2 different folders different virtual folders? Or if I have 2 different Virtual Directories each containing a subfolder are these two subfolders 2 different virtual folders? I know it seems like a weird question but I'm asking because Microsoft is using the term "virtual folders" and I am not sure if they mean the former or the later. Thanks.

I'm not sure what MS sources you are referring to, but Virtual Directories
are those that are defined in the IIS MMC. Subfolders of these Virtual Dirs
are just ordinary folders.

I dont know what 'Virtual Folders' means, but would have assumed they
actually mean Virtual Directories. AFAIK, they have no formal meaning.

The context in which you ask this question is probably important. What is
the underlying problem that you have?

Well in this case I assume the former would be accurate; would be virtual folders. I just don't know if the later is also; they are virtual folders. From the context of threading I don't know. No - comments are just a feel-good exercise. Nobody looks at them. I might be able to get it changed but that can take years. Any guess if the later are virtual folders? Your guess is probably as good as any other.
