Creating an Excel Download

I know this is probably very simple but I have not had any success in finding any example as of yet. I am in need of allowing permissioned users of a particular web app using ASP to query a table and then allow them to download an excel formatted version of the data they can use offline. Again, I'm sure this is simple but I need a little help getting started. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
