Performance turing

Hi

We have an "enterprise-scale" web application which is built with a very
thin ASP layer calling n-tier VB6 COM+ components. This application has a
physical architecture that utilises several servers.

It works well under the existing load, but the expected load is expected to
be in excess of 10x the current load.

I therefore require:

a) a way of measuring performance under the predicted load (or greater than
the predicted load)

b) if there are any performance issues that need to be addressed, then I
need to identify which components are acting as the bottle-necks.

c) any indications as to whether the physical architecture is correct....is
network activity a bottleneck?

Are there any tools available to help me do this? Ideally, free ones but I
would consider commercial ones if necessary.

(I'm aware of, but have never used, the MS VS6 Application Performance
Explorer and the MS Web Application Stress Tool. Comments on these would be
useful)

Many thanks in advance

Not really, since your environment and criteria are very likely to be
different from mine.
