how to read a file in a mapping drive with VS2005

20
When using Visual Studio 2005, I was able to read the text file if it's in my local c:\ drive

ifstream myfile;
myfile.open("C:\\test.txt"); --------------> this works on local drive
if (!myfile) {
cout << "Unable to open file";
exit(1); // terminate with error
}
myfile.close();

But when using a mapping drive on K:\ on my machine , I'm not able to read the any file on any mapping drive.

ifstream myfile;
myfile.open("K:\\test.txt"); --------------> does not work on mapping drive
if (!myfile) {
cout << "Unable to open file";
exit(1); // terminate with error
}
myfile.close();

Please help!!!!!!!
