Looking for simply script to list professors' publications

I am looking for a free (or inexpensive) script to list the book and
journal publications created within a college department and be able
to sort them by author and year of publication. I've searched
http://www.hotscripts.com/ and a couple of other sites with no luck
yet.

Do you have any suggestions? What would you think a script like that
typically be called? Book Collections? Article Database? I think I
haven't hit on the right search term yet.

thanks in advance, crispy

Here's what the rough output would look like:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bowman Publications - 2004

Comparison of classical, new corrected-classical, and semiclassical IR
spectra of non-rotating H2O with quantum calculations, A. L. Kaledin,
X. C. Huang, and J. M. Bowman, Chem. Phys. Lett. 384(1-3), 80 (2004).

"Morphing" of ab initio-based interaction potentials to spectroscopic
accuracy: Application to Cl-(H2O), J. M. Bowman and S. S. Xantheas,
Pure Appl. Chem. 76(1), 29 (2004).

A new approach to obtain a potential energy surface from direct
dynamics with application to the vibrational spectrum of CH5+. I., A.
Brown, B. J. Braams, Z. Jin, and J. M. Bowman, J. Chem. Phys. in press
(2004).

Enhancement of tunneling due to resonances in pre-barrier wells in
chemical reactions, J. M. Bowman,Chem. Phys. in press (2004).

A redcuced dimensionality quasi-classical and quantum study of the
proton transfer reaction H3O+ + H2O --> H2O + H3O+, J. Rheinecker, T.
Xie, and J. M. Bowman, J. Chem. Phys., in press (2004).

Thanks for your reply. I couldn't find anything that fits. I think I
need to be creative and think of some other script that can be
adopted.

Really, all I need is just an interface to INSERT records into
separate fields (author, co-author, title, publisher, date, year,
volumn, etc.) and another interface to UPDATE and DELETE. That's all.
A login page would be nice, but even that is not critical. Need to
work just with Access DB.

Can anyone think of an application that suites this purpose?

Maybe take a look at this solution:

http://www.yusasp.com/prj06a.asp

Its priced at 70 bucks which may or may not be worth it depending on how
much customization you'll need to do after that.

You should be able to write the code for what you described below in just a
few hours, if that.
Then spend a bit extra making a nice page layout to put it all into.

Thanks Patrick. I think it is too much for the simple thing I am
doing. Thanks for the idea, though. I recall Dreamweaver tutorials had
sample applications so I am going to go look there.

I have built similar stuff in Ultradev or DW before but spent so much
time fixing the bugs and stuff and it just wasn't worth the trouble of
doing it myself. ASP is not my forte by any means.
