Hello everyone..
I am in the processof seting up a shopping cart . this cart is not designed
by me . is pure ASP shopping cart with access db or i can use SQL ..
qustion as follow.
this site will have differnt products , in differnt categories. for example.
Computer, books, toy, electronics, etc to name the few
but the way i want to set this up is to have each category as a subdomain .
ex::
Computer.mydomain.com
books.mydomain.com
etc.
all subdomain , should ponit to single DB and if customer adds differnt
products from differnt subdomains , then during checkout all products should
be listed on single check out page..
Now i was wondring if this possible ?
logically, it should be done withought any modification , since there not
gonna be any session lost because all subdomains are part of main domain ..
all subdomain contain all the asp pages minus db and checkout page . where i
have to manuly code them so it would poin to right page ..
so any input would be great 3 1971
guys.. sorry for the date . i did fix it ..
again . my apology ..

Since all the asp stuff is running on the server, it shouldn't matter what
domains you're using, but this depends on how the shopping cart works. But,
if you were to make your own, sure, it wouldn't be an issue. If this is a
third party cart you're purchasing, run it by sellers to see what they say.

Well, we really can't tell you. No, it's not a secret, we just can't
tell you because we can't possibly know the answer. Logically, it
should work. But we didn't write the program and have no way of
verifying how logical the actual programmers are.
Of course, the original programmers could likely tell you. Or you
could probably test it in about 15 minutes.
