Help: developig a search algorithm

we have a product database that has a very limited search function
displaying results based on product title, or ID.
anyone know a good site for filtering the results to display details based
on relevancy i.e.

the keyword is in the title, and short description and alt tag and long
description 'n' times meaning it should be displayed in position 'x' ?
