HTML Controls

Hi I got some html controls text box in my asp.net page but when i submit the page i am not able to get their values back by request.querystring["Custname"]. It is giving me null values..
any idea why so ..what am I missing.

Generally I like reading html elements with the help of property methods like this;

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Public ReadOnly Property Address() As String
  2.         Get
  3.             If txtTextBox.text = String.Empty Then
  4.                 Return "NIL"
  5.             Else
  6.                 Return txtTextBox.text
  7.             End If
  8.         End Get
  9.     End Property
So next time you want to read the contents of txtTextBox in ASP, you simply have to say:
Dim address as String=me.Address()
