How to show an image where height nog greater then xx but do not stretch

Hi,

I need to show an image in the header of an asp page. If the image's width
is greater then 82 pixels, the header gets mis-formed. If I specify the
height for the image and it is smaller then 82 pixels it gets stretched and
misformed.

How do I solve this? At first I planned to write a vb-dll that checks the
image's height but since the image come's as a BLOD from sql-server tat is
a no-go.

Can I find the original height in the binary data from the blob itself?

HELP!

Hi,

I posted this question on many different groups and this is probably
the best tip I got. Other tried to get me te script things but that
doesnt work. Not the image is placed in a div. When the image is too
large it simply is not shown completely but as you mentioned at least
it doesn't mess up the header!

Thanks,

Roland

This probably doesn't help but, why would you load images
to the header (I am assuming this is not the http header)
when you don't control the image size? Asking for problems.

If you have to, you might try throw it into a frame,
iframe, or div tag. This may not display the image
completely, but at least it wont mess up the rest of your
page.

Hi,

You could use a component like ASPJPEG from Persists Software, which resizes the image according to your predefined dimension. Then you would never face this problem.
