a href + submitting a form

1
Hi,

I have a code that I am using to sort values of a certain field. I am using javascript along with the a href to get the values of the form - but this does not seem to be working. Any kind of help would be appreciated.

my code is as below

<td class="header"><a onclick="javascript:document.frm1.submit();" href="index.asp?sort=StartDate">Start Date</a></td>

Unfortunately - the values of the form are not being submitted wth the above code

thanks
- M
