2003 webserving misbehavior!?

pat
I have an ASP web application which ties into an access HelpDesk DB. The
site includes use of the CDOSYS.dll (with updated code from the older
CDONTS). Everything worked perfectly well on my XP Professional laptop.

We upgraded a 2000 server machine to 2003 and experienced no problems with
the webserver, neither with ASP pages or CDOSYS functions.

I did a clean install of 2003 server standard on a new box and moved the
helpdesk DB there as well as the web application. Everything works great
for about ten minutes, then scripts start timing out and the site
deteriorates. I restore a backed-up configuration I saved when things
worked and all returns to normal but again begins to deteriorate.

My first thought was to double-check that I had properly closed all
recordsets and connections (VBScript), which is now done but the problem
remains. I even saved the configuration from the functioning server to a
file but am not sure how to get the new server to import it, but would like
to try it.

Does anyone know what I am missing? I have been through the settings
repeatedly and, of course everything works with the current settings but
only for a short time, whether the CDO stuff is used or not (so, I can't
blame CDO). Thanks in advance for any assistance you may be able to offer.
