tmb

Can anyone update me on the status of accecptance of ASP.NET and of the
entire .NET movement.

thanks in advance.

ISPs or hosts? Many hosts don't support ASP.NET, but those are most
likely the same ones that don't support ASP either, because they're
all *nix servers (sans Chilisoft) or something along those lines. As
far as Windows-based hosting, hosts that do not offer ASP.NET support
will have to if they intend to retain customers and attract new ones.

I assume when you say "some ISP's" you mean web hosting companies? The
technology used to build a web application is irrelevant to an ISP.

When I was looking for a Classic ASP hosting company in the UK, I found
most of the ones I looked at offer .Net hosting too. It all seemed to
depend on whether they were running Windows 2003 servers.

A UK-restricted google for "dot net hosting" returns about a quarter of
a million results.

..NET is firmly established. Hosting companies may not offer it for
two reasons:

1) They're Unix-based hosts.

2) They're offering ultra-discount hosting.

Find a different hosting company, there are about a bazillion
supporting ASP and ASP.NET (Not mutually exclusive).
