I've built all of my apps in Access 97, but I think it's time I moved to some newer technology (a little late to the web app game...) so I'm considering an upgrade. Any reason not to go straight to 2003 and skip 2000/2002? Will Access 2003 create issues for clients that are still running Win98/2000? What else do I need to consider? Any...

I use an Access database to basically take data exports, import them, manipulate the data, and then turn them into exportable reports. I do this using numerous macros, and queries to get the data in the format that I need it in order to create the reports that we use. So far this has proven to be successful for the reports that I am doing and...

I've found an odd situation in where the Load event of the active form fires (after the Unload event) when Access is closed. I am able to reproduce this situation in Access 2002 SP3 and Access 2003 on computers running WinXP. This does not appear to happen in Access 2000 on a computer with Win2000. This only seems to happen if there is a...

I have a strange situation using Access to automate a Word mail merge. Using Access 2000 and Word 2000, the code opens Word, opens the document in Word, sets a table in the calling Access application as the data source, and then performs a merge. Everything works fine. However, when a user uses it in Access 2002 and Word 2002, an extra...

I've been using Access since version 97 and I've migrated to 2003. I've noticed a substantial number of strange ActiveX/OLE and code corruption problems when writing databases. The only solution I've found is to create a new database and import all the objects from the corrupted file. Has anyone else found a solution to this annoying...

We are running an Access 2000 MDB with a SQL 7 back end. Our network guy is upgrading to Windows Server 2003 and wants to upgrade Office and SQL Server at the same time. We're moving to SQL Server 2005, and, since he already has licenses for Office Pro 2002, he wants to upgrade to that. I've been saying that we need to upgrade to Access...

All, I'm not sure how to adequately explain my problem in two sentences or less, so at the risk of providing TMI, here's the condensed verion. I have developed an Access 2002 database file that contains a form, multiple queries and multiple reports. The purpose of the form is to allow the user to run various queries against my company's...

Hi, I am having a bit of a problem with TransferText macro. I am using TransferText, Export Delimited (no field names) to export the results of a query as a .csv file. The query is based on a linked table and uses a CDate() expression to convert the timestamp field (Nom_Date) from the table to a date type and the criteria: Between...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
