problem in testing ASP

17 New Member
I've written ASP scripts and tested it in my computer with an IIS. And it works!!! However, when I tested it on another machine (still with an IIS installed), it does not!!! I could NOT EDIT, ADD, NOR DELETE records!!! It says, "Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record." and "Cannot update. Database or object is read-only."

N.B. when i installed IIS, a folder was not found (something like ADSUTIL).
Could that be the reason?

And also, I have FrontPage in my computer while in the other computer that I tested, it hasn't.

Can anyone help me?!

Over the last few days, I reinstalled Win2kSP2 to a spare harddrive I had just swapped into my Fujitsu LifeBook P1120 (long story <wink>). Subsequently, I DL'ed the newest Python alpha (2.4a2), and when trying to install it, I immediately got this error: This installation package cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service. You must install a Windows service pack that contains a newer version of the Windows Installer service.

Hi, In the following script, I am trying to set selection to a select option element, that is newly created within the script. It works fine on IE installations on Windows 2000 and some XP machines. But on some XP machines, the selection doesn't happen and it defaults to the first element in the options array. Has anybody come across this problem ? Any known workarounds? Thanks Thomas.

I am not sure if this is too-granular a question to post to this group; however, I did not see a Tablet-specific group. I am experiencing a problem with the Microsoft.Ink.Ink.HitTest(Point , float) method in the Tablet SDK. I have pasted code below that verifies the problem using NUnit. In short, performing a hit-test on a Stroke that I have manually created with a set of input points is generating inconsistent results between...

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with this problem. I'm not sure whether the problem lies with the software or with my understanding of the language. I'm using the Microsoft.XMLDOM object in an ASP page to read an incoming XML post request and respond to it. Although the XMLDOM object verifies the XML at a basic level, I want to make sure that the request is in the correct format (as per the specification I have to

Hi all, I have a asp.net project that was built under visual studio 2003. The project can be built successfully, but it has this weird behavior that made me speechless. Here is what happened. scenario 1: start visual studio, rebuilt the project, Now test the website using ie, the testing is good so far, next test the website under visual studio (don't rebuilt the project!), the testing is good too. No problem.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
