Here is a SIMPLE problem that I'm trying to solve. It works in Netscape 6.2, but IE6 gives ""No such interface supported." Below are page1.htm and page2.htm . In page1.htm, there are two dropdown lists. If you change the selection of the left one (e.g. choose parentoption2), it should open up page2.htm in a popup window.

We have a dropdown combobox, where some of the text is wider than the textarea. I cannot set the width of the SELECT any higher due to design restrictions on the company website. When clicking the dropdown box, I want the textarea (which unfolds beneath the dropdown) to expand to the widest element of the options. I can see that Netscape does this automatically, but how would you do it in IE?

Does anyone have any ideas on this please? I don't know how to evaluate the no-blank selections against each other from a form as follows: . I have a form with 6 dropdown fields, each containing a selection of 30 options (the 30 options are the same for each dropdown list). The user needs to select 'one of the 30 options' from each dropdown selection, but each option they select must be unique (no duplicate selections) or it must be...

Group, I'm having a tough time understanding some of the previous posts on this topic so I wanted to write what I've tried and hope that you can help me troubleshoot. I have a dropdown populated from a table and I want to take that selection and use it to populate the next dropdown. So far: 1) I tried using a query that said select specificissue from specific_issue and used as my criterion !!

I have two dropdown lists. Both have autopostback set to true. In both dropdowns, when you select an item from the list, it redirects to the Value property of the dropdown. Nothing fancy. Let's say you select 1 of the items, and are properly redirected. You press the back button. I have three servers providing two different functionalities: 1. After pressing the back button, the item you selected in the dropdown is still selected.

I have been struggling with a problem for days now, and searched for related problems and solutions but had no luck. I have two dropdown listboxes where the first is populated in page load and the second is populated based on the input in the first. The first dropdown is inside a "If Not Page.IsPostBackThey" if loop. Both have autopostback set to true. The problem is that when the user makes a choice in the first dropdown an event is...

I have a strange issue with dropdowns. Using php4, mySQL5, Apache 2 on a fast XP pro PC, I have a form which requires 5 dropdowns populated with indentical values. I extract the values using SQL and populate 2 variables and use a for-next loop to create the dropdown. The dropdown contains some 310 items! It works beautifully if I have 1 or 2 dropdowns but as soon as I add more it partially creates the 3rd and just stops until it times out!...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
