Server variable riddle - extract typed in querystring after url

Could someone help me figure out how to utilize .servervarialbl es (or
another creative method) to do the following:

If someone types into browser (or clicks a querystring hyperlink) with the
following....

http://www.boat.com/?cat=CrazyHorse

....* Is it possible to extract the ?cat=Crazyhorse
from the typed in or clicked url when he reaches that root page?

I thought perhaps this could work but no:

CrewedCat = Request.ServerV ariables("QUERY _STRING") Response.Write "
" & CrewedCat & "
"

Hi All, I have a pure asp (Vbscript) page that manipulates data between MSAccess and SQLServer2000. I'm trying to use the Scheduler app on the IIS server to run this page nightly but there must be a better way of doing this. How can I make my code in to an object and install it on the server and have it schedule to run nightly?

Hi there, I am having trouble with some data that is ripped from a SQL database and displayed as a hyperlink. The hyperlink inserts the data into a querystring so the next page can read it. However, some of the data has apostrophies (') in it, so the page does not redirect properly (invalid syntax) because of the apostrophy. so i tried...

Hi We are trying to stream a file using server.transfer rather than response.redirect. We have it working for IIS 5.0 but IIS 6.0 refusing to let us transfer the file. If we do the less efficient prompt/response technique to the browser both work fine. We found this article that was only slightly appicable...

Hi, Lacking javascript knowledge, I just realized why my project has a bug. I am using ASP to loop through a set of records while it creates URLs with a querystring that has a single value pair. This URL needs to open in a floating window if clicked. (this is for an administrator and so opening a small floater gives them more efficient...
