WinXP Pro: Setup Secure Communications on IIS

For testing purposes, I need to setup secure communications for a folder on
a website in my WinXP Pro IIS. When I right click on the directory in the
IIS services window, an go to the Directory Security tab, everything is
ghosted.

I need to reference a web page in this folder with
https://localhost/myfolder/dosomething.asp, and have the SSL
encryption/decription feature.

How can I do this?

I'd imagine you have to install a certificate before you can enable SSL.
Described here.
http://www.freessl.com/resources/ins...l/MS_IIS5.html I don't
know if there's a tool that would allow you to create a certificate that
would load with a warning about not having a trusted authority or something,
kinda similar to selfcert.exe for VBA. I'd imagine there's something like
that though. But, what is it that you have to test that would be different
in https than in http?

I just wrote a very simple wrapper for the PayFlow Pro SDK (see below). A friend of mine did this before, but I didn't have access to his source, so I took it as a learning opportunity for me to write a C wrapper. I did a little searching to see whether anyone had done anything like this for Python. I didn't find anything. I did find...

Hi people, I've got WinXP Pro SP2 English on my laptop and since installing SP2 got the IISRESET "No such interface supported" error. The whole story: I was writing a fairly simple ASP app with in-memory recordsets, and while testing I issued an iisreset to get 'clean test results', but I got the "No such interface supported".

Hello Everyone, I am trying to install Oracle 9 on my Windows XP Pro laptop so I can play around. I downloaded the 3 ZIP files specified on the Oracle site (92010NT_Disk1.zip) and unzipped them into their respective Disk1, Disk2, Disk3 folders. I then run the setup.exe in Disk1, the drive churns for 10-15 seconds, then nothing happens. No...

For some time, I have been using TSISOON90.dll, a free Access COM Add-in from Trigeminal Software which closes one db and opens another, plus other useful tasks. Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
