integrated Windows authentication

Firstly, I'm running IIS 6.0 on Windows SErver 2003 that is also a DC.

I have an asp page (default.asp) I am trying to access as my hom page for my
site. I am trying to use Windows authentication.

When I select only "integrated Windows authentication" I get prompted for
user information and then get an error: "The page cannot be displayed."

However, if I change the authentication method to "Basic authentication" and
enter the exact same logon information, it works without a problem.

I do not want to send passwords in clear text. I need to use Windows
authentication.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Try specifying a domain when you log in. Either us**@domain.com or
domain\user, if there is not a domain field in the login box.

EVERYTHING is located on the same server and I'm using the browser from the
server (results are the same from my XP workstation).

I've tried using us******@domain .com and domain\username . I think the
authentication is at least working because I don't get prompted a second
time for username and password.

Also, it works if I enable anonymous access and enter the exact same
username and password (as I try to do at the prompt when using windows
authentication) in IIS Manager on the Directory Security page. My guess is
that this method is exactly the same as basic authentication with clear
text.

Our intranet is running under windows integrated security. We have domain users that want to access our intranet site via ssl vpn. SSL VPN can not authenticate against services that run under windows integrated security. In order to get around this issue it seems that we would need to create a login page on a separate site that runs under anonymous security. Then pass the users credentials to the site running under integrated security. ...

Hello, Since it is the first time I'm posting in these groups, I believe a (short) introduction of myself would not be a bad thing. I am mainly a support engineer, not a programmer. I do have some experience with Java and LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP) but don't consider me one of those boring OS advocates please. ;-) I also have done a little bit with Visual Basic (and GwBasic in a long forgotten past) and nowadays my job involves...

I let the web service run in an application pool which runs under a domain user, this domain user has permissions of accessing database and the connection to database is trusted connection. All these work well. The web application will be used in internet (not...

I need to develop an intranet app that uses Windows Authentication with IIS set up for Windows Integrated Authentication. The problem is that I want to force a challenge (i.e., force the user to enter username and password) when they access the app. I know that basic and digest authentication will do this, but I cannot use these, nor can I use forms authentication. With windows integrated authentication there is no challenge. I tried...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
